The Health and Safety of our employees, contractors, customers and others affected by our activities is a key priority for ABB.
The starting point of our health and safety program is our health and safety policy:
"To provide a safe and healthy working environment at all sites and facilities and to take adequate steps to prevent accidents and injury to health arising out of the course of work by minimizing so far as is reasonably practicable, the causes of hazards inherent in the working environment."
ABB South Africa has a health and safety committee, with representatives at each of our sites, which ensures effective implementation of this policy.
The company provides training sessions to managers and other employees on health and safety. Safety is placed at the top of the agenda at company meetings.
In addition, the Group issues a global monthly newsletter on safety to all employees.
